Yuki Hayashi × SjQ [Yaritori No Yukue]

展示初日に行われた演奏。映像作家林勇気の最初の写真の一投の輪郭が人工生命化され、サウンドを奏でる。

それに続き、来場者の記憶＝写真が次々と投稿されていく。やがて、それが群れとなり、サウンドスケープが生まれていく。

演奏家達は所定のルールで、人工生命と即興セッションを行う。演奏家の演奏も変換され、人工生命の「群れ」に影響を与える。

即興音楽を奏でようとする演奏家と群れとして生態を成す人工生命、それぞれ異なる環世界をシステムがつなぐ。
 
A performance on the first day of the exhibition. Video artist Yuki Hayashi’s first photograph, the contours of his throw, are transformed into artificial life and play sound.Following that, the memories of the visitors = photos are posted one after another. Eventually, it becomes a swarm and a soundscape is born.

Performers perform improvisational sessions with artificial life according to predetermined rules. The performer’s performance is also transformed, affecting the “swarm” of artificial life. The system connects the different worlds (Umwelt) between musicians trying to play improvisational music and artificial life living in their ecosystem.

初日により、「群れ」の状態が決定され、その後の展示期間中も、世界中から写真の投稿を受け付け、成長と変化をつづける。その結果、群れが生み出すサウンドスケープも変化し、徐々に持続音（ドローン）に変化し、移ろい続ける。
 
On the first day, the status of the “herd” is determined, and during the rest of the exhibition period, it will continue to grow and change as it accepts photo submissions from all over the world. As a result, the soundscape produced by the swarm also changes, gradually transforming into a sustained sound (drone) and continuing to shift.

ネットワーク上にアップされた画像や音は誰かと共有されたり、端末に保存するなどして使用されています。
また、その中で誰からも忘れ去られ、存在しているデータもあるでしょう。
プログラムの目によってそれら画像を認識し、人工生命体として生成し、撮影者の意図を越え動き、声をだし、遣り取りをはじめ、生態系をつくりだします。
一連の流れは現実世界にも相互に影響を与えます。人工生命体の音と、現実の音が遣り取りをはじめることで、常に変容していく地図のような音楽と図像が姿を表します。
それらは日々アップロードし共有、コピー、インデックス化され、時には人の現実社会と相互に大きな影響を与えあいながら跡形もなく消去される無数のデータの新陳代謝が行われる様子を可視化・音響化しています。
