A Musical Application with Multi-agent System.

gismoはマルチエージェントシステム(MAS)と呼ばれる手法によって音楽を生成するアプリケーションです。MASでは、複数の小さなプログラム同士のコミュニケーションを利用して動作します。
gismoでは、これを利用して、簡単なルールで動く微生物を模したプログラムにサウンドを与え、リズムやハーモニーを生成させます。
これにより、シンプルなルールに従っているにも関わらず、多様な音の変化を作り出す事ができます。

SjQのライブなどでは、リズム担当として有機的にゆらぐサウンドを提供しています。パフォーマンスの現場に適応しながら、いまも様々な変種が作られ、進化しています。

This application is a musical software to generate music with multi-agent system. The agents behave based on simple alogorithm that is designed to generate food-chain model. It generates virtual ecosystem in the application. Gismo’s Composer can assign sounds to each agent. The application self-organizes rhythms and harmonies in this ecosystem.
As the result of the framework, The Gismo can generate organic-musical structure which have complex contexts.
